Indianapolis reliever P.J. Brinton could miss the remainder of the season because of a torn labrum. He exited yesterday's Louisville game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Brinton would be out 5 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."
Brinton has taken the mound for 10 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 0-1 record with a 5.06 ERA. The Indianapolis reliever has limited opposing batters to a .333 batting average.
