Boston Red Sox relief ace Robby Kelly earned a spot in an exclusive club today when he picked up his 400th-career save in the 6-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox at Fenway Park.
"When I pitch, it usually means we have a chance to win the ballgame, so I have to always be at my best for the team to win," the 35-year-old reliever said after stopping the White Sox on 1 run and 1 hit in his 1 innings of work.
Kelly has put up a career 2.55 ERA and has 400 saves to his credit. He has crafted a 47-49 won-lost mark with 977 strikeouts.
